the new location is so so. Inside has little atmosphere and its just not the same. Many other "diners" in the area that are better. service was good. I did happen to hear out of the 3 other tables in the place the orders were wrong so check your order,

Great home style cooking for a really great price. Everything I have tried here has been really good. Breakfast plates are huge and the the burgers are some of the best in town. A thought for those times when Lucky 13 is chaos, just come a block west to Mo's and grab one for less dough in a chill atmosphere.

Mixed reviews about Mo's breakfast. Personally, I really enjoyed the food, but my husband's wasn't so good. He ordered a pretty basic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast meal. He said the eggs (scrambled) were dry, bacon was overcooked, and he didn't prefer the toast. I personally loved the toast so that one will likely be a preference thing for most people. It is four thick slices of homemade honey wheat bread. I ordered the vegetarian skillet. I'm never thrilled when I see the only vegetarian options at a place are a cheese omelet or a vegetarian omelet/scramble/skillet but this place isn't huge so I get it. I asked the waitress if they could add mushrooms and they did for no charge. I LOVED my meal! The skillet had broccoli in it which is not common; I personally think every "veggie" meal should have broccoli! All the veggies (broccoli, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, and tomato slices) were cooked perfectly-not too much or too little. Also, it wasn't overloaded with onions and peppers like a lot of veggie things are. The bed of potatoes they serve it on are equal amounts tender and crisp. The price is also very good! I don't remember exactly what we paid but it was less than $20 even including a 20% tip.

They get a full star just for their perfectly rendered thick crispy bacon. Formerly the Mo's from downtown, Mo wanted more of the diner feel. But don't worry, his infamous wings are on the menu. What may not be familiar is the all day breakfast items and selection of burgers. Their breads and buns are made in house and for better or worse whole grain. They have quite the breakfast selection and kudos for serving it all day. The burgers are massive and quite a challenge to devour.

The food here is good. The burgers are great and for the price better than the fast food places.

Mo's Diner offers very good food on a consistent basis. Try the grilled Cajun chicken salad with a tallboy can of beer. Tuesday nights is open mic comedy beginning at 7:30 pm. It can get crowded, please offer your servers a little slack as they bust their tails to meet everyone's requests. The open mic may not be appropriate for the delicate ears of children.

Great everything ... food, service, portion size, decor, prices, music. I had the Italian sausage sandwich and really good fries and fry sauce. Husband had the chili verde omelette with home fries and homemade sweet honey toast. Very relaxing atmosphere and listened to alternative music as we ate ... Counting Crows, REM, Jeff Buckley, etc. Can't wait to come back to Mo's Diner! It was bomb!

Just happened to come in here with a group I was meeting with for breakfast. I love doing that with no expectations or reading other reviews. I was super happy with the service and my food. Really cheap place to get your grub on. I will say yes I will be back again for sure.

I don't know if this was a fluke or what, but I had one of the worst services in my life here. Good thing I was a in a great mood, with great friends and no rush. But jeez louise, I had never seen four tables sit down, 10 minutes go by, no service, or a kid comes to say hi what do you want to drink, they say just water, and the kid never comes back. THen the four different tables stand up and leave. We were the only table who actually stayed and I kid you not, we saw the kid 3 times. I was feeling bad for him, thinking he's too young, doesn't have a lot of training or guidance, but no. He was just upstairs hanging out with his friends, while the poor cook was frantically cooking stuff for guests who had already walked away. I saw him coming out with apron on and dishes in hand, and no guests to serve. Whoever this kid was (probably the son of the owner or something) lost a lot of money in the 45 minutes I was there, waiting for food (or service) to come. I saw more parties walk in, call staff out loud, ask us if it was even open and we just shrugged. We were glad to leave and never come back!

I always like to find a good diner breakfast, so when I found myself with some time to kill, I looked for a new place. Mo's is a little hard to find coming from the North, as there is no signage, but not too bad. Once inside, I was promptly seated and got some decent coffee and orange juice. Clean inside, the decor is granddad's garage. Baseball memorabilia, wooden skis, and an old lantern included. Juxtaposed with this is a really big, modern TV. So I wasn't surprised to find a quirky menu also. It had a lot of standard stuff you'd expect, and then... The taco omelette. I knew I'd have to experience this one. True to its name, it had lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and salsa on a base chili cheese omelette. Pretty good, along with a nice side of bacon. Service remained prompt throughout, I'd definitely come back!

I tell jokes here from time to time. I really enjoy the atmosphere here. It's always a pleasure when I'm here. They've got tall boys for cheap. Christina is lovely and sweet. She looks you in eyes and really gives a shit. Tip her. I love the intimate vibe here, my only knack is the steak here is tough enough to take a punch from Mike Tyson. Other than that . Go there

Pretty Good Breakfast / Decent Burgers / Daily Specials About a 3.5 but I rounded up. Breakfast: Chili Verde Skillet Breakfast is very tasty ( but it doesn't come in a skillet) Pancakes are fluffy (though the syrup was not that great). Bacon was thick, and cooked crispy (as ordered). The toast was from fresh baked bread, and was just about the best toast I have had in a restaurant. Lunch: 1/2lb burgers on fresh baked buns are pretty good, and they are fairly priced. Servers are friendly and attentive, but not well trained. And, they have a full liquor license. Not sure how they pulled that off. But I'm sure the dinner crowd likes it.

This is a wing and beer only review. I have been eating Mo's wings since he owned a little bar named Nickels in Sugarhouse in the late 90's. The wings here are hot and crispy with a true buffalo style flavor. Besides wings the only other thing I have ordered here is beer. Stick with the basics I say.

I have mixed feelings about this place because I've had really great experiences- amazing burgers, and then there was this last time that really struck out with me. I was starving that morning and all 3 of my sons decided to join me for hot chocolate while I grabbed something to eat (they'd already eaten breakfast). I chose Mo's because of my prior good experiences. I ordered the Bacon and Eggs- with sides of ham, sausage, pancakes and fries so that my small children could have something to nibble on if they wanted to. Christina seemed annoyed with my order, the hot chocolates were too hot to drink for as long as we sat there, she did not give us silverware or coffee creamer until we asked. The bill was about $25 and I left a $2 tip on the table due to poor service. When I checked my bank balance, i realized that they had charged me $34. I did not leave a tip on the card. They must have charged me an additional tip for a party of 4? I'm not sure but I'm not happy. I'll never go again if they need to sneakily charge more when we only ordered one meal. They were kids for crying out loud. Small, very quiet and well behaved children. I don't get it at all. EDITED TO ADD: After I posted the above review, I was contacted by the manager and I've checked my bank account- the charge is now appropriate. I guess sometimes the bank initially overcharges for that place and then corrects it after the transaction is settled. I'm not sure why. I will chalk up my last experience to maybe just an off day. Good burgers there though, will try to get back there for a burger and tequila shot! I've changed my rating from 1 to 4 stars because of the kindness and sincerity of the manager with his apology. Sometimes that's really all it takes...

I am writing this at the restaurant right now. Im just visiting SLC and was looking for a good diner and found this place on yelp. We were wanting a good breakfast place for a Sunday brunch before taking the trax to explore the city. As far as the good goes: the food is reasonably priced and tastes good. The music playing was good; alt rock from bands like modest mouse, the national, the xx, etc. It's fairly close to a trax station, which is why we chose it. Now for the not-so-good: Our waitress was friendly but very overwhelmed. I'm fairly certain that she is the only person working here aside from the one cook. Our food took about an hour to come out, as the grill broke down or something. When we did receive our food, my pancakes were still batter in the middle, so I had to send them back. I could hear the cook telling her he was having trouble regulating the grill temp, which was evidenced by the slightly overcooked bacon I got. The second round of pancakes turned out OK and actually had a good taste to them. The waitress comped my coffee for all the issues. If it wasn't for the long wait and weird food issues, I'd recommend this place, and probably would have given it 3 or 4 stars. Based on this visit, I'd say find a Denny's.

I remember the old Mo's... so great for Monday night wings and endless pizza! So I stopped in for a cheap breakfast... Even for a cheap breakfast this felt cheaper and so flavorless. All tables messy, people who ordered 5 minutes after us got their food well before us. A kind and very cool waitress serving, but doesn't seem to waitress. Ordered the Vegi skillet You can tell that this it wasn't a skillet, it wasn't cooked in one, there was no cheese, and only three types of veggies which may have been the left over vegi's that fell off the Philli cheese steak cooking next to it. Flavor was flakes of burnt previous food, and for $6 it could have fit in the smallest togo container in the world (dramatic, yes). My friends philli was painfully tough. Cheap shouldn't be this bad. I love Mo's from before which keeps that extra star in place, keep working on your quality and I will be back.

Decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I'd driven past the Mo's downtown but had never heard whether it was good or not. On a weekday at noon, my wife and I were the ONLY customers (red flag?). The atmosphere was really nice ...sooo much potential. We were greeted by "Hi, where do you want to sit?" Hmmm. We figured we should play it safe and order the special. The bread was stale. The meatloaf was sliced & pressed perfectly like Spam. The gravy was clear and absolutely without flavor. The blue cheese salad dressing was that opaque, slimy, cheese-less type. It was obvious that they bought ALL of their food next door at Wal-Mart! Mmmmmm, frozen TV dinner at Mo's. Then a couple of transients came in. The filthy guy went in the bathroom and he he could be heard throughout the restaurant!! I won't elaborate on THAT. The waiter was friendly and I'm sure there is something good about this place but if you're hungry, just go a couple of blocks further south. There are plenty of choices much better than this one ...like a slice of pizza at Costco!

Pretty average food with below average service. The toasted bread on the meatloaf sandwich tasted good but the rest of the sandwich was pretty lacking in flavor. The fries were better than your average fast food fries but not fabulous. The bacon cheeseburger had overcooked bacon and was nothing to rave about. And finally water appeared to be on ration for most of the meal as the waitress was nowhere to be found during the meal and our glasses sat empty long before our food was brought out.

Came in for breakfast. Food is good for what it is; cheap, heat n' eat breakfast fare you'd be happy to have at any free hotel breakfast. Got the egg and cheese scramble, country fried chicken and eggs, coffee and a side of sausage patties. Coffee is quite good, I could easily drink this all morning long. Cheesy eggs were not fluffy, but cooked well and seasoned. Country potatos had a good flavor and were cooked perfectly. The country fried chicken wasn't cooked in hot enough oil I'm guessing because the breading was kind of soggy and peeled right off the meat. The biscuits are house made and fine, but the sausage gravy probably come from concentrate and is just added to hot water. Thin, flavorless aside from a vague cream taste, with nary a speck of actual sausage in the gravy. Not in love. The toast was so dry. It came unbuttered, and each bite was like an explosion of dusty bread crumbs in my mouth. The coffee helped. Sausage patties straight from the grocer's freezer. Food came out hot and simply arranged on clean plates. Nice atmosphere inside. Reasonably clean and very neat and tidy. Decorations were kind of neat, and there is a big screen TV going on the wall which might annoy some but we enjoyed on this lazy Sunday. Service was prompt if dialed-in. We had a good meal for two adults and a kid for under $20, amazing! I would probably come back if the circumstances were right. I have read good things about the burgers so wouldn't mind trying one. Not a destination meal by any means, but gets the job done at a very nice price point.

I was not impressed. I read the reviews and was expecting a great burger. Sadly mine was very dry and the meat just lacked any flavor. The toppings/bun were nice and the bacon was done extra crispy (which I like) but the star of the dish was bland.

I'm so confused about this review. I'm honestly stumped because my husband would've rated it a 2 star. So I'll review some of the things that we disagreed on because I think they'll be very person to person types of opinions. The start, the decor is a little rough. There's not a super cohesive theme, but given the area this is a mute point. It's clean and easily accessible which is what matters. The service was very good. The girl working was very nice and polite. I don't know how she would do if it were super busy, as we were one of the two sets of diners. But for our experience she did well. My husband and I ordered completely different things. He had a bacon cheese burger and I had eggs, bacon and hash-browns. So here's our first difference in opinion. He did not like the bacon and I loved it. It was super crispy almost borderline over done which I really enjoy. A clod of crispy meat suits me just fine. He would rather more traditional preparation and flavor. He also didn't think anything was quite flavorful enough. But again, I disagreed. Now I was a little disappointed to receive fried eggs when I ordered over easy. Whatever Utah cooks have against egg yolks is beyond me. I can't eat eggs that are solid because I had stomach surgery a few years ago and ever since I just don't tolerate certain foods. Scrambled eggs are one of those foods. Since eggs over easy can be mixed in with the hash-Browns I don't have a problem with them. But whatever - Mo's isn't the first place or the last to serve me over cooked eggs. Now my husband loved the size of his burger and the accoutrements, but he wasn't really impressed with the flavor of the meat. He would've liked more seasoning in the patty and he doesn't like cheddar he prefers american. It was very "one note" as the pros would say. I took a bite of it so that I could form my own opinion and I thought it was fine. He did have rancid burps for the rest of the afternoon which is pretty puke-a-tronic. So if you're with someone you've just started dating, I'd avoid the burger - if your with your spouse then DIG IN, cause what are they gonna do? Divorce you for rancid burps? HAH! But it is good especially for the price. Which I was so thrilled about! 20$ with a good tip for the 2 of us and I had orange juice! Say what??? I'll be back definitely and I will try the chili verde burrito. Why I didn't I couldn't really tell you.

I went for breakfast after reading a review about how large and great their breakfasts were with supposed hefty portion of ham. I ordered eggs with ham and a side of biscuits and gravy. I have eaten a LOT of diner breakfasts and this one was one of the worst I've ever had. Instead of thick fluffy biscuits they were thin, flat and dense, I had to cut them with a knife. Then the ham and eggs came and instead of the usual hash browns there was a small portion of some kind of sliced taters.. eeeeww! The ham was SMALL and paper thin. I'm still wondering how the comment of "generous proportions" was reported in a review. At least they hadn't figured out how to skimp on the eggs. I wan't particularly impressed with the cost either. If you want a good breakfast, better go somewhere else.
